SUPPLY CHAIN NOTICE:Due to the increasing difficulty in securing parts across several manufacturers, we have found a few substitutions for the oil cooler portion itself. The oil cooler will either come as a KOYO or Summit Racing brand cooler. Functionally, they are 100% identical, and still backed by our standard product guarantee, as well as torture tested in-house on GRW personal vehicles.

Unfortunately the Greddy oil filter sandwich plates are continually going on and off back-order, due to this, we have now offered an upgrade option for the Improved Racing thermostatic oil filter sandwich plate. Please read below for more details.

Our complete oil cooler kits feature a 25-row KOYO/Summit Racing Oil Cooler, with -10AN Nylon Braided Flex Hoses, Adapter fittings for the factory L28ET oil filter adapter, or a Greddy/Improved Racing Thermostatic Oil Filter Adapter for L-Engines not equipped with the L28ET Automatic Oil Filter Adapter.

These kits are completely bolt in, and feature mounting hardware to mount to your radiator or A/C condenser based on your setup, as well as premium quality components for any 1970-1983 Datsun- Z Car.

When selecting which option, if you have an AUTOMATIC L28ET engine, or the oil filter adapter bolted to your engine, please select “L28ET” under Engine to make sure you get the correct kit.

If you do not have the L28ET Automatic oil filter adapter, please select “L28E” under Engine.

OIL FILTER SANDWICH PLATE INFORMATION

This GReddy Oil Cooler adapter is the correct way to run an oil cooler for an engine not originally equipped with one from the factory. The most important part is the built in thermostat, which allows for proper regulation of oil temperatures, thus giving proper oil circulation, and longer duration and service life. The initial thermostat opening is 185 degrees F, and will close after dropping below 160 degrees F.

IMPROVED RACING

Improved Racing offers oil filter sandwich plates with thermostats in all the popular oil filter thread sizes for easily plumbing an oil cooler to your engine. Their built-in, rebuildable thermostat bypasses the oil cooler until the oil has reached its maximum operating temperature, allowing your engine to warm-up quicker and prevent oil from being over-cooled. They also allow a small percentage of fluid to continually circulate through the cooler, eliminating air pockets and preventing cold fluid from being trapped in the cooler and shocking the system. Improved Racing oil filter sandwich plates with thermostats also feature a filter bung machined from hardened 410 stainless steel for excellent durability.
