Looking to simplify and modernize your HVAC system in your S30/S130 chassis? What about adding HVAC to a car that never had it from the factory?

Vintage Air recently has discontinued their Gen II Mini line, in favor of this new Gen 5 Mini series. We have not installed one in house just yet, however we plan on doing so shortly, but for now we are able to offer the under-dash units, and factory appearance controllers.

This kit is a universal application, but fits quite well behind the S30/S130 dash, and is relatively easy to install. We will be working to offer mounting brackets, hoses, and all of the support products we did previously with the Gen II Mini.

All-new design developed with the same overall package size as venerable Gen II Mini system, the compact electronically controlled climate control system is designed to fit a wide variety of vehicles including street rods, early pickups, European and Japanese cars. Molded case with high-capacity coil and variable speed blower for rapid interior cooldown. Variable temperature adjustment insures "just right" temperature all year round. With the increased performance and features, the new system is compatible with all Gen 5 Builder Series and SureFit control panel options. Kit includes mounting brackets, defrost ducts, wiring harness, duct hose and heater control valve.

Features included high-torque OEM stepper motor-controlled blend air doors and heater control valve, block-type expansion valve for precise refrigerant flow metering. High-performance variable speed blower assembly. Microprocessor controlled coil temperature to eliminate external thermostat. Large 2.5" duct hose outlets for superior airflow delivery and performance.

The 240z controls will feature an “install kit”, which allows you to retain your OEM control panel, but with vintage air switches and labeling installed to complete the OEM look.

The 280z controls will be a completely new control panel that mounts into the OEM location.

As of 11/2025, there is no direct fit option for the 280zx, so like the Gen II Mini kits, we are offering and suggesting the Streamline Series 3-knob billet control panel for ease of install and proper fit and finish.
