Mr. Wisniewski's Full Catalog 240z ITB Powered 3.2L Stroker Build
Once in a blue moon, we find ourselves with the opportunity to completely refine our process, and approach a build from a completely new angle. A build that re-defines our capabilities, our product line, as well as communicates to the car community that we take our jobs and the responsibility that comes with it very seriously. A built that allows us to fully express ourselves, with no restrictions. This is one of those builds.
Mr. Wisniewski originally approached us with a newly purchased 1972 240z from Bring A Trailer. The car had actually been sold once before on Bring A Trailer. Once in 2019 after a complete repaint in Green Metallic Avocado, some XXR 16” Wheels, and some aftermarket body panels such as an MSA air dam, and some minor engine mods, and then the 2nd time when Mr. Wisniewski purchased it.
He immediately had a vision for the car, noting his observation of several of our previous builds on our blog, and wanted to discuss specifics, timeline, and budget. Once we worked out some of the nitty gritty details, we decided on an engine build, EFI conversion with our Individual Throttle Body Kit, our TL70 6-speed conversion, and paint matching the engine bay while things were apart. As time passed, we discussed several more key areas, and the build slowly became a full catalog build, with almost no stone left unturned. Originally the plan was to build a high compression L28 with some minor head work, however another client of ours had a 3.2L Stroker engine that was being built by us, but wanted out of the project all together. We were able to work out a deal where Mr. Wisniewski basically purchased the existing build off of the customer and allotted it to his 240z.
At this point, the build had now shifted to a 3.1L Stroker Engine with a fully CNC ported cylinder head. We added on a few other creature comforts, such as a full set of Speedhut gauges, Electric Power Steering, A Full performance suspension build, and capped it off with a complete set of TechnoToyTuning big brakes on all 4 corners.
Once the final build plan was set, we got to work. This build did not happen fast. Many parts back logs, vendor back logs, body shop wait times, machine shop wait times, and more all contributed to approximately a 2 year build time. But over the course of 2 years, we made sure everything was absolutely perfect with this car. During the final QC process right at the 2 year mark, Mr. Wisniewski allowed us to transport the vehicle 4 hours south for Texas Z Fest 2026 to debut the car, and use it in our booth to showcase our work and our capabilities.
At some point toward the trailing end of the build timeline, Mr. Wisniewski let us know this vehicle was going to be exported and sent back to his home in Australia, as he was looking to move back and bring the car with him. We spent the last few months diligently QC checking the build, exposing it to as many scenarios and conditions as we could, to ensure that if a failure was going to happen, it would happen in our care, and not on the other side of the world.
As this build came to a close, we added this to the list of cars that we will always remember, and miss dearly, and we hope that Mr. Wisniewski gets to fully enjoy yet another car built by Caleb, where function, fit, and finish were all accounted for and prioritized.
