Josh's 84 Mustang SV5.0
Josh has an affinity for rare and forgotten about cars that have made their mark in automotive history. This build was no exception. Last summer he brought us a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, dubbed “The Thunderchicken”, and for this summer’s project, he brought us the sister car. What started off as a full race-spec 1984 Ford Mustang SVO, soon turned into a straight-line rocket with a fully built, billet bottom end, 347ci stroker V8 engine, based off of the Ford 302ci H.O. engine in a 1989 Ford Mustang GT. This was not your standard 4-cylinder to V8 conversion as the donor vehicle was 5 years newer, and the previous owner of the vehicle had really done a number on the car. Luckily, it being a race built car, we had some room for fabrication and re-engineering.
